History and background
In 1977, Zamil Marine Services involved in
the operation and maintenance of its owned
offshore support fleet and ARAMCO owned vessels.
In 1980, it ventured in the repair and
conversion of offshore support vessels and port
services.
In 2002, it involved in building of offshore
and port service vessels. And,
In 2004, it involved in building of very
advanced designs of offshore support vessels and
is now firmly placed at the forefront of the
Arab Gulf offshore-specialized shipyards. It is
the premier and only shipbuilder in Kingdom of
Saudi Arabia and at the same time, it is the
only offshore-specialized shipbuilder in the
Arab Gulf region.
Location of the yard
It is geographically situated in
the heart of the Arabian Gulf sea-borne traffic and
strategically located nearby the world's largest
offshore oil fields. The yard is located at King
Abdul-Aziz Port in Dammam, just 15 km from the city
center.
